A matter of perception...

You know the question, half empty/half full. As I took a walk along a creek bank, I looked across the water and saw this awesome bunch of roots. Spread out everywhere, but all serving the same purpose. Strength, nourishment and the metaphors go on and on. From me to you. Happy New Year

My role model...

Let me introduce you to my Papaw Green (My Grandfather) 86 years young. A good man, by example. He's a proud WWII vet, fantastic mechanic, listener, friend, Grandfather and Great Grandfather to my daughter. He possesses the a sense of gentle acceptance unmatched by any living person I've ever had the privilege to meet. Thank you papaw

Once Upon A Time...

This has been a personal favorite for quite a while. I do not know exactly what year of ford this but it sure was an interesting subject to shoot. Have a great one! DC

Greetings From DC

I went a bit overboard today uploading several photos that you will find below. Some recent, some not. I hope that you enjoy looking through the posted photos as much as I have enjoyed taking them. If you would like to comment on a photo, please do, I'd love to here from you. Your photographer, DC

Music City Dreams...

As you may have noticed, from time to time you will see photos that I have taken while running the streets of Nashville, TN as I have had many opportunities to spend an afternoon of evening in the downtown area. Such an amazing place. I once told a friend of mine when he asked me why I enjoyed spending so much time there that around 3am I enjoyed chasing "The ghost of Hank"
This photo I took on one of the street corners of Broadway and ? (I'm guessing 2nd Ave) the subject could just barley be seen, an artists poem of sorts...

and some by train
methods are different
But the dreams the same"

America's Most Wanted...

The story behind this money roll is a fun one... I went to cover a local high school basketball game. Before the game began I walked over to the snack bar to get a snack and a cup of coffee. But my single dollar bill was not enough to get a snack and the coffee was not yet ready. Well I turned around to walk into the gym when a man asked it I would buy a "half and half" ticket to help out the basketball program. I spent MY VERY LAST DOLLAR I HAD in my pocket on that ticket. I looked at the number. Said to the man who sold it to me that he had just sold the winning ticket and to take care of my money for me, we both laughed.
Guess what, at the half they called the winning ticket # and I WON! $118.00 That's my story of the money roll photo.

One From The Road

With the temps what they have been this winter here in WNC. It's always fun to remember sweating like crazy and hoping nobody was about to top the hill and run me over while getting this shot!

Truck Stop Cat!

I introduce you to 'TONY'. He lives in Grosse Tete, LA at the 'Tiger Truck Stop'. The only time that I have ever had the opportunity to pet and play with tiger cubs was at that facility. In my travels between Laredo, TX and Atlanta, GA I stopped quite often to watch the cats. Check out their site at: tigertruckstop.com I do hope that you had a fantasic Christmas! Enjoy!

La Luna Llena... (The Full Moon)

I do hope that you enjoy the above image. You may assume that I was standing out west somewhere in the middle of know where. But actually, if had turned around and taken a shot from that view, the beautiful skyline of Dallas, TX was just 1/4mile behind me! Take a second and look at the 'Google Earth' image below and I have pointed out exactly where I was in relation to downtown. I will attempt to show more illustrations like this in the future! Enjoy, DC

Rear View...

While in Dallas one day I had the opportunity to spend about 10 minutes alone with this beauty. A rolling, growling work of art...

The actual sticker below.

Cherrys On Top...

Though rarely do I choose this decadent desert, I found that it is a good thing to splurge once and a while. Frozen Bliss.

I Hope You Dance...

Do you really know what you are seeing here? Hint... Taken during a Folkmoot street dance.

"It's Where I'd Rather Be..."

The title: simply a quote from Willie Nelson's song 'Texas'. This photo, taken just north of Laredo,TX is one I hold close to my heart. Enjoy, DC

They grow up fast...

Taken after Thanksgiving dinner this year, I realized that my little girl was not using her step-stool at Papas sink. Just last year she did. This photo shows her on her 'tippy toes' while she washes her hands at the same sink this year... I once heard an uncle of mine say,"When they're young they walk on your feet, when they get older, they'll walk on your heart".

A Broken Heart...

FOUND: Two pieces of a broken heart. Others last seen on Main.

You better watch out...

A recent walk down main lead me to this jolly ole' fellow.

Midnight Sunflowers...

During a stroll after midnight, under the light...

Start them out young...

Throughout my life I have had the experience of having a father who has a 'nack' for business. I have seen Printers children standing watching the press run, the gardener have his child mow the lawn. Now I have the opportunity... My four year old with a camera in her hand. Shown here actually composing the best shot of Santa. Over the last year a half she has had an insane interest in photography... and if your are wondering... Yes, I'm a very proud Dad. Enjoy, DC

At What Cost...?

I think each of you may have your own interpretation of this photo. For me, I can't help but to look into my little girls eyes and wonder.

Don't we all have days like this?

You know the scenario... You pull up to an intersection, look both ways, glance at the sign and say, 'what if '?

One of my adventures in 'The City'

On this excursion into New York, I stayed just across the river from Manhattan and my stepbrother Garrett. Who came and gave me the grand tour with his sun-roofed Cadi. Thanks again bro!

Over the next few days I will post several more shots from this outing. Enjoy.

Extreme Advertising...

On one of my trips to NYC, I was riding down the
L.I.E/Long Island Expressway when we rounded a
curve and BOOM! The largest billboard I think I've ever seen!
One Question... What are the monthly rates to have your ad 12 stories tall?

Every once in a while...

While on a resent shoot I saw these beauties staring back at me.
They begged to be photographed, and I obliged. Enjoy...
